Product Description
Zinc is an essential trace element found in all body tissues. As a cofactor for over 300 enzymes, zinc supports protein, carbohydrate, and fat metabolism, cell division, and tissue regeneration. Since the body cannot produce zinc itself or store it long-term, continuous intake through diet is crucial.
Function
Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system, protects cells from oxidative stress, plays a role in cell division and DNA synthesis, promotes the maintenance of normal skin, hair, nails, and bones, supports the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, and contributes to normal fertility, cognitive function, and vision.
Two Bioavailable Zinc Forms
Zinc bisglycinate is an organic chelate compound (zinc bound to glycine) and is often well-tolerated. Zinc picolinate is bound to picolinic acid and is also considered highly bioavailable.
