NORSAN Omega-3 capsules contain a natural fish oil with a high omega-3 content. A daily dose (4 capsules) provides 1,500 mg of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA).

Due to the high dosage, Omega-3 Total capsules are a good alternative to our liquid oil. It is perfect for those who do not want to take pure liquid oil or for those who travel a lot.

NORSAN FISH OIL

The fish oil contained in our Omega-3 capsules comes from sustainable wild-caught fish and is the same oil we use for our proven Omega-3 Total. NORSAN fish oil is extracted directly from the fish meat and not as a by-product from the fish liver. Small fish from sustainable wild catch such as sardines, mackerel, and anchovies are fished. After catching, directly on the boat, the fish is processed and chilled. The fishery is subject to strict guidelines and has the recognized "Friends of the Sea" certification. The fish oil is then purified of pollutants and PCBs and controlled according to strict regulations.

Natural Fish Oil – No Concentrate

The Omega 3 capsules consist of natural fish oil – no concentrate – with a fatty acid complex of over 50 fatty acids. The extraction and purification of our fish oil is gentle and preserves the natural fatty acid structure of the fish. The difference between a natural fish oil and a concentrate is that in concentrates, the natural fatty acid structure of the fish oil is altered through various chemical processes to artificially concentrate the omega-3 fatty acids higher.

Unique 3-Stage Purification with Microdistillation

For this purification, we use a modern facility that uniquely filters and purifies the oil from heavy metals, pollutants, and PCBs. At the same time, the valuable properties of the natural fish oil are preserved. The special refining process is based on an effective and unique 3-stage purification – While conventional industry methods only use a two-step purification, we additionally carry out a special and unique purification with micro-distillation in a 3rd step, which precisely filters out the remaining pollutants. This allows us to offer the best and cleanest quality.

For NORSAN Total fish oil, an oxygen-free processing environment is guaranteed, so that our oil is optimally protected from oxidation. Oxidation causes fish odor and has an unpleasant effect on the taste. The TOTOX value – oxidation value or "freshness" value of the oil (the lower, the fresher) – is in the low range of approx. 10, which confirms the high freshness of the oil.

SHOULD I TAKE OMEGA-3 CAPSULES OR OIL?

We recommend that you decide according to your personal taste and preference. Both products are an optimal source of omega-3 fatty acids and consist of natural fish oil from sustainable wild catch. Capsules are suitable for travel and for people who do not like to consume pure oil. Liquid Omega-3 oil, on the other hand, is more practical to integrate into daily life, as it can simply be added to food like regular oil and the taste is so pleasant that it can also be consumed plain without problems. Furthermore, there is the possibility of immediate self-monitoring of quality through smell and taste. Another aspect is the price difference – capsules are more expensive in the manufacturing process due to the necessary additional step of producing the capsules, which affects the final price. Thus, the alternative product to the liquid oil costs more than the oil in its original form.
