When a child is sick, everything happens at once: taking their temperature, changing their sheets, calming them, comforting them. And in the back of your mind: please, please drink. That's when you realize how important it is to have an electrolyte drink on hand that your child will actually take.
Most electrolytes for children taste stale, salty, almost medicinal, and are usually refused after the first sip. HERBY Family Electrolytes taste like a light lemon soda when freshly mixed, with no bland aftertaste.
They compensate for the loss of sodium, potassium, and magnesium that quickly occurs due to fluid loss. But why sugar? Dextrose is needed so that electrolytes are absorbed quickly. This isn't marketing, it's biochemistry: The SGLT1 transporter in the gut needs glucose to effectively transport sodium and water into the body.
Also a delicious treat as ice cream: Simply dissolve in 150 ml of water, pour into ice cream molds, and freeze for at least four hours.
The minerals: Sodium regulates fluid and electrolyte balance, supports nerve and muscle function, and is important for maintaining blood pressure. Potassium is vital, co-responsible for acid-base balance, osmotic pressure, and blood pressure regulation. Magnesium is essential for nerve and muscle function.
Ingredients
Dextrose, Acid: Citric Acid, Trimagnesium Dicitrate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Flavorings, Sweetener: Sucralose, Color: Riboflavin (B2).
